ImageCARSON (Ticker) - David Beckham has been added England’s roster in time for next Wednesday’s friendly with France, the Los Angeles Galaxy announced on Thursday.

Beckham, who left England to pursue an MLS career last season, will be serving as a captain for the 100th time in his international career.

The 32-year-old signed a five-year, $250 million contract with the Galaxy on January 11, 2007. His first season with the Galaxy was mired by injuries, as he appeared in just five games and recorded two assists.

Beckham has been healthy this preseason, playing in all six of the Galaxy’s games. Los Angeles opens its regular season on March 29 against the Colorado Rapids.
