MANILA (MB) - Carlos "Charlie" Cojuangco was mayor of Pontevedra, Negros Occidental and three-term congressman of the 4th district of the same province.

He is also known as the son of Eduardo "Danding" Cojuangco and widower of the late popular screen personality Rio Diaz.

Since he opted out of politics after completing his three terms as legislator, Cojuangco has been deeply involved with the sport closest to his heart – football.

My own cup of life

ImageMANILA, Philippines (Inquirer) - I was a sheltered kid who didn’t even know how to ride a bike or play patintero, so when I broke the news to my loved ones that I would be playing football, they asked in amazement: “You can actually run?”

I don’t blame them. Because they know that when you say “Beckham,” I think of Victoria, not David.

Before football, the only sport I knew was billiards, but it was usually accompanied by beer so it didn’t count.
I suck in badminton, too, where I’ve been in the dirt-low, bottom C bracket since I started playing on and off three years ago.
