ImageBOGOTA (AP) - Two goals by Salvador Cabanas helped Mexico's America edge Colombia's Millonarios 3-2 for a valuable away victory in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana semifinals on Wednesday.

German Villa, on a header, opened the scoring for America and Paraguayan forward Cabanas doubled the lead.

But, cheered on by 40,000 fans, Millonarios fought back in the second half with two goals in eight minutes by Gerardo Bedoya, on a free kick, and Jonathan Estrada.

When Bedoya was forced off with an injured leg after 73 minutes, Millonarios had already used its three substitutions.

With a man advantage, Cabanas netted an open header with five minutes remaining.

The teams meet again on Tuesday in Toluca to determine who advances to face the winner of the all-Argentine semifinal between River Plate and Arsenal, for which the first leg is on Thursday.
