 By Romy Sabaldan DAVAO CITY (PIA) - Ateneo de Davao made an excellent mark in football sweeping all the championship honors in all four categories of the “Araw Ng Dabaw” Football Festival over the weekend at the Tionko-DFA field. Leading the way to a smashing four-category championship was the 10 years old and under squad lead by the duo of Jed Diamante and Javi Romero-Salas. Both DAVARAA champion standouts were controlling the ball in both right and left midfield and scoring at will in an exciting 4-1 finish against the highly rated Indonesian Boys of Garuda Football Club in the finals. Thiswas followed with a stunning championship drive to the finals, one after the other, as Ateneo’s 12 and Under Boys squad defeated Catalunan Grande soon after the elementary girls and high school girls of the same blue-clad football club had also made a swept in their respective categories against SOS Children’s Village and Holy child School of Davao, respectively. Councilor Edgar Ramos Ibuyan was the guest during the awarding ceremony. He handed the champions trophies and cash prizes in behalf of Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte. |
