CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - The Pinoysoccer.com sponsored Don Bosco team advanced to the semis in the men's division of the 8th Cebu National Inter-Club Football championships after scoring three straight victories in the elimination round at the University of San Carlos-Talamban campus in Cebu city.
The Bosconians opened their campaign with an impressive 20-0 rout of a very young Cebu International Football Club-Lapu lapu city in their debut match, then escaped past a stuborn Seagulls Football Club of Davao 4-3 and advanced to the semis with a 3-0 victory over Dipolog city.
They will battle Cebu International Football Club-Cebu city team today (May2) in their last elimination round assignment to determine the top team in the crossover semis.
Cebu Inter-Cebu city has two wins and one draw.
Prolific striker Lemar Baunsit scored 11 goals against Inter-Lapulapu, Robert Nicart and Iry Henson added two goals each while Eleazar Toledo completed the rout with six goals.
Baunsit, Nino Zapanta, Kim Relucio, and Jade Paghubasan scored in their game against Davao. Against Dipolog, Baunsit also scored one goal, Richard Canedo one and Paghubasan also one.
Queen City United are on top of Group A with also three victories. Team Cebu city of coach Francis Ramirez are still battling it out with Cebu College United for the last semis slot.
Semi-final games are scheduled Saturday while the final and the battle for third place on Sunday.
