BACOLOD CITY (Daily Star) - Young football enthusiasts get the chance to experience the thrill and fun of playing the world’s most popular sport inside a mall for free with the staging of the McDonald’s Soccer Mania at the event center of the SM City Bacolod starting today.
The three-day activity, which will feature ball juggling competitions, kick-for-a-prize, beat the goalie and a football clinic to be conducted by Union FC players, starts from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., event manager Japette Pison said.
Similar activities have also been held in Baguio City, Cebu, Pampanga and Cagayan de Oro, she said.
Among those who will conduct the free clinic are Randy Salisad, Kenneth Santos, Sheriff Abrahim, Romnick Achain and Peter Amores.
The Bacolod stop of the Soccer Mania is the Visayas leg of the search for the McDonald's Champion Kids, a contest, whose winners will earn the right to witness the Beijing Olympics in August 2008, Pison said.
Kids can also join the search through a writing contest with application forms available at McDonald’s branches.
