MANILA (Philippine Daily Inquirer) - Patrick O’Neal struck in the 78th minute as Nomads FC drew with Manila All-Japan, 1-1, Sunday in the Puma United Football League at the Nomads Field in Parañaque City.
Toyohisa Shomada put Manila All-Japan in front with a marker in the fourth minute.
It was the second straight draw for both Nomads and All-Japan after the two sides posted identical 2-2 results with Kaya FC and Pasargad FC, respectively, during the opening weekend on March 9.
In the second game, Ian Araneta blasted home two excellent goals as returning UFL champions Union FC blanked Alabang Grins, 2-0.
Pasargad, proving to be a stronger team this season, whipped Diliman-based Superfriends, 2-0 on Misaga Bahaduran’s two markers.
Pasargad earned a share of the lead with Loyola FC, which clobbered the Cameroon players of Mama Africa FC, 4-0, on March 9.
Nine clubs are competing in the three-month tournament put together by United Football Club Association (UFCA) and Puma.
