By Steve Silva MANILA, Philippines (Inquirer) - Striker Angeline Impelido struck with just a minute left in regulation time to lift the Philippine team past Hong Kong, 3-2, Saturday night in the AFC Asian Women’s Cup 2008 qualification round at the Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground in Hong Kong.The Filipinos, using the match as a preparation for the Thailand Southeast Asian Games in December, play the Hong Kong squad again Monday. They advance to the second round in March next year if they end up with a superior goal difference after the home-and-away series against China’s special administrative region. |
